Welcome back,
This will be my final NKE blog before the May 2010 sitting.
I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have read my blogs over the past 10 weeks and have been actively involved through online collaboration.
For those of you outside Ontario, I hope you will look to our resources again to prepare for the NPPA when you’re ready.
Many of you are members of our Facebook Group: Canadian HR Press – Guides & Resources…
A great way to keep on top of what Canadian HR Press and earningthroughlearning.com are doing is to join our Facebook Fan Page, simply called: Canadian HR Press

Exam day tips!
Okay so it is time to focus! You have 180 minutes and 150 questions. No problem. You have been studying for awhile now – you know the material! You should complete your second round of the online assessment tool to get a good understanding of your overall readiness for the exam and to work out any trouble areas prior to the exam.
On the day of the exam do not hang out with nervous/ negative people. Pretend this is the final game of the championships; champions don’t hang around with those who bring them down – neither do you!
Overall:
1. Get to your exam location early – it is your turf!
2. Don’t bring too much study material – just a few notes – otherwise you’ll feel overwhelmed
3. Hang around with winners; ignore the losers
4. Prepare a strategy – if you don’t know a question will you circle it and move on, or guess? You know what has worked in the past – plan this strategy ahead of time!
5. Dress business casual – If you feel like a professional, you will write like one!
6. The night before get a good night’s sleep – energy and focus are important
7. Eat – You can’t focus on an empty stomach
8. Relax – you know the material!
That’s it from me. You may have variations on strategies that work for you on multiple choice tests – use them! The above is simply my advice.
I would wish you all the best of luck on the exam but you don’t really need it. You have been studying for months now and you are ready – all that’s left now is to apply it.
So in this last week, maintain the study habits that have lead you to successes in the past and they will lead to success again!
I wish you the best of luck over the next 2 weeks as you do your final preparations for the NKE.
When you get your results, I look forward to hearing how you did.
Have a great summer,
Ian |
